With the transition to online courses, please note that students will not be required to come to campus for research-related responsibilities. However, undergraduates may indicate an interest in continuing their research project remotely. We advise students and faculty mentors to discuss the matter and develop a fair plan for moving forward. For your assistance, the Undergraduate Research Centers have put together suggestions and resources for how faculty-mentored student research may be conducted off campus during remote learning.
Students will be able to remotely enroll in an SRP 99 course. For departmental 199-like classes, we recommending contacting your individual department. Thank you again for your patience and please feel free to reach out with any questions or concerns. We want you to have a productive spring quarter and to see you succeed in your research pursuits.

UCLA Entering Mentoring Training Program is a 6-session curriculum designed for graduate students and post-doctoral students in the sciences.
CIMER is a resource for faculty and students that aims to improve research mentoring relationships in all career stages.
The National Center for Faculty Development and Diversity offers training modules, coaching sessions, and more free for UCLA affiliates.
The National Research Mentoring Network (NRMN) is an online community that partners mentors and mentees to address the lack of diversity in biomedical research, while providing webinars and other teaching resources.

The Center for Education Innovation & Learning in the Sciences (CIELS) provides teaching guides and other resources for UCLA tenure and non-tenure faculty involved in undergraduate education.

TOOLS TO HELP STUDENT WRITING
The UCLA Undergraduate Science Journal is a peer-reviewed publication registered with the Library of Congress, highlighting the top-quality research performed by UCLA undergraduates in all STEM fields, that allows students to publish their research and engage with the larger research community at UCLA. The Undergraduate Science Journal recently released a Paper Planner that breaks down writing to manageable pieces and helps your students develop and write a research paper.
Writing Instruction + Research Education (WI+RE) provides students educational resources and workshops.
ORCID provides a digital identifier to help track all published work and help distinguish yourself from other researchers.
