The CARE Fellows Program provides funds to PEERS sophomores to support entry into research. CARE Fellows can have little or no previous research experience. The scholarship offers TWO quarters of support for students already in labs. You may only apply if you are a PEERS sophomore.

CARE Fellows applicants are required to:

  • Be a PEERS student.
  • Maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0, with a minimum 3.0 quarterly GPA in the prior quarter.
  • You must already have a faculty mentor who is interested in you doing Undergraduate Research with them during winter and spring.
  • You can already have a LAEP work-study position with the faculty member. While you will not receive added funding, you can participate fully in the program.
  • A preference will be given for students interested in continuing research through their senior year.

The CARE Fellow application is available to PEERS students in their SOPHOMORE year.
