APPLICATION PERIOD

  • January 3, 2023 – March 24, 2023 at 5pm.
  • The application can be accessed as a Survey on MyUCLA under the “Campus Life” tab.
  • All materials must be received by the deadline for the application to be considered.

GENERAL GUIDELINES

Do not use symbols, Greek letters, italicization, or boldface words in your text submission for the Previous Research Statement or Research Proposal. the MyUCLA Survey system being used does not support them and will convert them to incorrect characters.

All program participants must complete necessary lab training courses prior to beginning work in research labs. The “Laboratory Safety Fundamental Concepts” class is required for all students, volunteers, and staff in laboratories. Please see the EH&S training schedule for class dates and enrollment instructions.

APPLICATION

  • Personal statement essay
  • Research experience essay –  briefly summarize your previous research experience. Include your faculty mentor, the length of your involvement, a brief summary of your work, and, if applicable, any course credit you received.
  • Unofficial transcript(s) – emailed directly to marc@lifesci.ucla.edu
  • Two letters of recommendation
  • The letter of recommendation must be written and submitted by your UCLA Faculty Mentor to the following email address: marc@lifesci.ucla.edu
  • Résumé/CV –  Should be emailed directly to marc@lifesci.ucla.edu
