Sara Thoi (2007 cohort) received NSF Career Award & Cohen Translational Engineering Fund

Dr. Thoi has been recognized with an NSF CAREER Award, a DOE Early Career Award, and named as a Scialog Fellow in Advanced Energy Storage. The Thoi research group will integrate elements of synthetic chemistry and materials science for applications in both homogenous and heterogeneous catalysis.

Dr. Sara Thoi has also received a grant for research through the Cohen translational engineering fund.

Douglas Yao was featured in UCLA’s College Magazine in winter 2018 in the article titled “Undergraduate research inspires alum’s future career” on pages 14-15. The article describes how being involved in undergraduate research at UCLA inspired Douglas to pursue a doctorate degree, which he is now completing at Harvard.
