 or your research journey? Join the Undergraduate Research Center for the S
 ciences for office hours with one of our directors. These sessions are ope
 n to undergraduates who would like to discuss topics such as:\n\n 	Writing
  a STEM Abstract*\n 	Getting into research**\n 	Undergraduate research pro
 grams/opportunities\n 	Graduate school preparation\n 	Communicating your r
 esearch\n\n*If your question is about writing your Showcase abstract\, we 
 recommend watching our Writing a STEM Abstract workshop before attending o
 ur office hours.\n\n**If your question is about how to get started in rese
 arch\, we recommend watching our Getting into Research workshop before att
 ending our office hours.\n\nMeet the Director\n\nDr. Monica Gonzalez Ramir
 ez is an Assistant Director of the Undergraduate Research Center – Scien
 ces\, where she leads programs such as PEERS (Program for Excellence and R
 esearch in the Sciences) and TREP (Transfer Research Entry Program). With 
 a PhD in cell biology and molecular biochemistry\, she has published in to
 p journals\, received competitive grants and fellowships\, and presented h
 er research at national and international conferences. At UCLA\, Dr. Gonza
 lez Ramirez is dedicated to mentoring undergraduate students from diverse 
 backgrounds\, helping them navigate research opportunities\, build resilie
 nce\, and explore a wide range of career paths in science.
